T Mobile said to offer BOGO for Galaxy Note7

The overwhelming success of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge was thanks in part to carriers who offered a BOGO (Buy-one-get-one free) deal which offered a free Galaxy S7 or S7 edge when customers upgraded to the new phone.

Well, legendary leakster @evleaks tweets that we can expect T-Mobile, at least, to offer this same BOGO promotion for T-Mobile customers. If this promotion is going to be like the original S7 deal, customers would be able to upgrade or add a new line with a Galaxy Note7 and get a second one for free as long as one of the phones is being added to a new line of service.

In about 2 months, customers would be mailed a prepaid MasterCard. This card would have the entire value of one phone which customers could then use to either pay the phone off on their accounts, or use for whatever else they please.

The BOGO deal could really help Samsung sell more devices than Apple in the US. We really don’t think T-Mobile would do the same deal for the iPhone 7. While the iPhone was offered in some BOGO offers this year, it likely won’t happen for a brand new iPhone. We’ll just have to wait to find out what T-Mobile’s plans are for the Galaxy Note7.

The Samsung Galaxy Note7 will be announced at 3 simultaneous events in New York, Rio, and London on August 2 and we will be reporting from the New York event as the Galaxy Note7 is revealed by Samsung.
